About this Club

Note that as of September 2018 the Northern California Camping Club has changed the name to drop the reference to Starcraft, following the National organization, which changed their name to "Friends and Families Camping Club" earlier this year. The official affiliation and sponsorship from the Starcraft company ended some years ago. The club is open to all brands.

Started in 1971 (and holding chapter charter number 5!), the Northern California Starcraft Camper Club (The Club) is a group of families and individuals who own a Starcraft brand recreational vehicle (including pop-ups and hard side RV’s) (or Jayco Motorhome) and get together for organized campouts almost every month (note that Starcraft ownership is no longer required). Our campouts encompass Northern California areas such as Sacramento, Manteca, Turlock, San Jose, Hollister and San Juan Bautista to name a few. Each campout is hosted by volunteer member Wagonmasters. Locations are planned a year in advance and typically 10 to 40 rigs attend.

The National Rally is held each year in a different location, and members from the entire US converge for a week of fun camping. We hosted the Rally one year on the West Coast, but most are held in the Eastern US.

A typical club campout begins on Friday evening with a hospitality supper hosted by the Wagonmasters. Saturday is filled with optional local events and attractions, relaxing at the campground or visiting with new and old camping friends. Saturday evening generally brings everyone together for a wonderful potluck dinner. On Friday and Saturday evenings, members can be found around the Club fire barrel talking, sharing, laughing and even singing from time to time. The weekend concludes with good-byes at the Wagonmasters campsite with pastries, fresh fruits and coffee on Sunday or Monday if a long weekend.

We are hopeful that you will join us as our guests for a weekend of camping fun. This means you are welcome to try us out at one of our campouts and then consider membership in the club.
