President’s Campout Report

The President’s campout and annual club meeting at Sugar Barge was a good one. The weather was warm and the food good, especially the BBQ steak. The proposed bylaw changes were accepted. See the members area for the old and new bylaws. Catch up on the newsletters there also.

One news item of general interest is there is now an opportunity to join the Starcraft International club without having to own a Starcraft rig. For those who have had one in the past but no longer have a Starcraft, you can even get your old Starcraft member number back. This also allows people to join the Starcraft Club Chapters without having to own a Starcraft RV. This is great news for all the folks who enjoy the club but were unable to join in the past. This is all due to the Starcraft International club no longer being funded by the Starcraft (now Jayco) company. It may change again in the future, so this may be a limited time offer. Starcraft International has indicated that these memberships will be grandfathered in the future.

The webmaster(s) didn’t make this campout, but from the reports we have it was quite an outing. 34 rigs total from both Northern and Southern California clubs. Lots of good food and a few exciting moments. The full reports are in the June issue of the Newsletter which is available in the Member’s area. A few safety tips are worth sharing:

1) Do NOT use white gas for starting a campfire. If you must do so INSURE that there are no ignition sources in the fire pit before applying the liquid fuel.

2) Do NOT use a rocking ottoman for a step stool. Just don’t.

3) Watch your step. All the time. There are many hazards and falling is hard on people.

Aside from the extra excitement there was a lot of good food and good friends.

There are bylaw changes proposed for the general meeting this year. Refer to the Newsletter for details.

Pismo Campout!

While everyone is out having fun at Pismo Beach, we’re at home working on the website and a few other things.

The ByLaws are posted in the Member’s Area. Thanks to DawnB for scanning them in. See the newsletter for some proposed changes to the ByLaws at the Annual Meeting.

We’ll post a campout report as soon as we get one. Hopefully someone will stop relaxing and send one soon…

April Campout Report

The weather was wonderful and the company was great. We arrived at The Vineyard RV Park in Vacaville on Friday. There were 8 rigs in all. We did have some thunder and lighting on Friday but it was short lived and we had just enough rain to keep the dust down. The blue sky came out and we had clear skys for the rest of the weekend. Friday we were treated to Dave’s homemade turkey soup and baked potato bar. Saturday most everyone converged on the newly opened Camping World RV Sales. Camping World is only a mile from the campgrounds, where they moved from Cordelia. We did have wonderful food at the potluck – we have great cooks in the group. On Sunday we all had continental breakfast with Starbucks coffee then packed up and said good-bye until May.

April Campout

There are a few days left to register for the Club’s April 24-26 Campout at the Vineyard RV Park in Vacaville. Come and enjoy the outlet shopping, golfing and local wine tasting opportunities. The campout coupon is in the Club newsletter (and the newsletter is in the web club member private area here). Registration closes April 5th, so do not delay! The Wagonmaster’s (Amrine) will provide friday evening Hospitality (food) and they have guaranteed the weather…
